Asia update Spring 2026.

Further South near the equator A Transition to A Neutral ENSO around South East Asia is taking place while East Asia and the Phllippinnes is undergoing a Monsoon Transition phase from Amihan to end soon around Mid March 2026 for our weather stations to herald in the Warm-Dry Monsoon Tag-Init.
In the South China seas Cooler inputs from the Amihan early 2026 months will expire and gradually lead to warmer conditions heating the sea surface of the SCS. In the coastal areas of Hong Kong the Southern section of the EAT in earliest spring has brought intermittent thunderstorms and downpours to the area in Early March 2026 whilst Hong Kong enjoyed a unusual dry warm fine Feb 2026.
